Wolff-Forcelledo’s non-representational work explores the paradox of “motion within stillness.” Using relief and resist techniques – primarily with pressure of graphite on paper – she fills and also layers free-flowing strokes, in various formations so that naturally reflective graphite clearly invites a state of wonder.

A long standing artwork inspired by celestial telescopic images that illustrate how boundless energy transforms space with light and dense matter in all that is imaginable. Her work seeks to capture evolving revelations of microscopic, natural and cosmological discoveries that defy resolution, holding tension between recognition and uncertainty.

Each stroke here, settled in relation to another, recalls coral forming slowly on an ocean floor – incremental, responsive, and irreversible. Over time, this neighbouring sense of community resists any fixed or flat reading too.

This sensory tension and what cannot be resolved asks the viewer to stall, deliberate, follow various paths with marvel in order to replenish our natural desire to move forward, where there is a way.
